Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Power & Energy and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 1.00% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 20.02% or 270.20 points to trade at 1620.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 13.70% or 41.10 points to 341.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Millennium Housing Developers PLC (CM:MHDL), which fell 16.67% or 1.40 points to trade at 7.00 at the close. Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) declined 12.61% or 1.40 points to end at 9.70 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 12.50% or 0.1000 points to 0.7000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 134 to 51 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in Millennium Housing Developers PLC (CM:MHDL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 16.67% or 1.40 to 7.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.46% or 0.70 to $47.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.45% or 0.71 to hit $48.26 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.52% or 19.55 to trade at $1307.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.12% to 205.030, while USD/LKR fell 0.02% to 144.470.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.85.
