Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Palm Oil, Telecoms and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.51% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) added 16.76% or 167.90 points to end at 1169.90 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 16.67% or 0.20 points to 1.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN), which fell 14.60% or 7.20 points to trade at 42.10 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) was down 12.01% or 132.00 points to 967.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 124 to 78 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) rose to 5-year lows; up 16.67% or 0.20 to 1.20.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.22% or 0.49 to $41.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.75% or 0.34 to hit $44.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.05% or 11.40 to trade at $1092.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.54% to 217.425, while USD/LKR rose 0.62% to 142.930.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 99.22.
