Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Plantations and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 20.50% or 10.70 points to trade at 62.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) added 18.88% or 245.80 points to end at 1547.80 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 18.18% or 0.200 points to 1.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which fell 9.09% or 3.00 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) declined 8.33% or 0.200 points to end at 2.200 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was down 7.41% or 48.00 points to 600.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 88 to 83 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.09% or 3.00 to 30.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.96% or 0.48 to $50.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.85% or 0.44 to hit $51.96 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.58% or 7.35 to trade at $1263.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.48% to 179.200, while USD/LKR fell 0.12% to 146.670.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.62.
