Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF) added 13.15% or 2.80 points to end at 24.10 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was up 12.98% or 78.00 points to 679.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL), which fell 10.00% or 7.30 points to trade at 65.70 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 7.65% or 3.90 points to end at 47.10 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) was down 6.31% or 0.70 points to 10.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 80 and 46 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.95% or 0.41 to $42.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $44.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1327.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 191.435, while USD/LKR fell 0.02% to 146.165.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 97.08.
