Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which rose 9.06% or 2.90 points to trade at 34.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) added 8.71% or 4.80 points to end at 59.90 and Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX) was up 8.35% or 5.00 points to 64.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 11.59% or 113.00 points to trade at 862.00 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 10.34% or 6.00 points to end at 52.00 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was down 9.33% or 0.70 points to 6.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 76 to 63 and 64 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.16% or 0.07 to $44.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.20 to hit $46.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1302.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.34% to 184.635, while USD/LKR fell 0.28% to 147.965.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.22.
