Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) added 25.00% or 26.90 points to end at 134.50 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 18.69% or 78.50 points to 498.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which fell 23.36% or 15.70 points to trade at 51.50 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO) was down 9.88% or 3.40 points to 31.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 103 to 57 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) rose to all time lows; rising 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.00% or 0.100 to 0.900.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.22% or 0.16 to $71.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $77.46 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1324.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.61% to 214.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 157.890.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 92.35.
