Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) added 24.93% or 271.40 points to end at 1360.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 22.78% or 64.00 points to 344.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 24.62% or 640.10 points to trade at 1960.00 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 20.88% or 475.00 points to end at 1800.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 12.50% or 0.10 points to 0.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 151 to 36 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; falling 12.50% or 0.10 to 0.70.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.77% or 0.68 to $39.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.59% or 0.64 to hit $40.97 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 3.40% or 41.80 to trade at $1271.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 204.765, while USD/LKR fell 1.08% to 143.440.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.93% at 94.81.
