Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY), which rose 10.34% or 8.90 points to trade at 95.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) added 10.27% or 5.40 points to end at 58.00 and C W Mackie PLC (CM:CWM) was up 9.93% or 5.60 points to 62.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 22.88% or 594.80 points to trade at 2005.30 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 13.33% or 0.20 points to end at 1.30 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 11.11% or 0.10 points to 0.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 118 to 79 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.27% or 0.13 to $48.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.60 to trade at $1274.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 211.930, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 146.600.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 94.86.
