Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which rose 1.11% or 0.046 points to trade at 4.205 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 1.06% or 0.190 points to end at 18.060 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 1.00% or 0.057 points to 5.758 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which fell 1.85% or 0.28 points to trade at 15.12 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.68% or 0.320 points to end at 18.780 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was down 1.31% or 0.265 points to 19.965.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 100 to 85 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.40 to $1253.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.34% or 0.68 to hit $50.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.56 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.88.
