Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.81%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 0.07% or 0.002 points to trade at 2.877 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) fell 0.20% or 0.040 points to end at 19.600 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was down 0.41% or 0.09 points to 21.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 3.89% or 1.125 points to trade at 27.790 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 3.57% or 0.154 points to end at 4.161 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was down 3.35% or 0.248 points to 7.152.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 153 to 31 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.75% or 10.10 to $1337.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.97% or 0.64 to hit $65.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 1.15 to trade at $68.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.2462, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 88.97.
