Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 2.42%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 8.43% or 0.398 points to trade at 5.118 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popular (MC:POP) added 8.01% or 0.093 points to end at 1.254 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 6.50% or 0.232 points to 3.801 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 1.79% or 0.365 points to trade at 20.065 at the close. Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) declined 1.16% or 1.45 points to end at 124.05 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 0.85% or 0.155 points to 18.085.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 137 to 60 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.80% or 24.45 to $1332.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.38% or 1.96 to hit $46.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.58% or 2.12 to trade at $48.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1091, while EUR/GBP fell 1.94% to 0.8349.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 96.33.
