Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 5.64% or 0.286 points to trade at 5.360 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Const. (MC:ACS) added 4.89% or 1.245 points to end at 26.695 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 3.75% or 1.205 points to 33.370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which fell 3.14% or 0.076 points to trade at 2.346 at the close. Banco Popular (MC:POP) declined 1.00% or 0.012 points to end at 1.184 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) was down 0.03% or 0.002 points to 6.611.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 167 to 34 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.04% or 13.85 to $1345.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.36% or 1.07 to hit $46.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 0.83 to trade at $47.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1226, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8581.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.17.
