Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 2.11% or 0.225 points to trade at 10.900 at the close. Meanwhile, BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.98% or 0.107 points to end at 5.520 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.98% or 0.046 points to 2.370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 1.15% or 0.064 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Acerinox (MC:ACX) declined 1.10% or 0.125 points to end at 11.220 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 0.30% or 0.055 points to 18.370.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 134 to 60 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.55% or 7.25 to $1319.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.49 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 0.67 to trade at $48.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8520.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 96.01.
