Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.69% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.721 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 1.69% or 0.106 points to end at 6.397 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 1.61% or 0.086 points to 5.429 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which fell 0.71% or 0.90 points to trade at 126.60 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 0.62% or 0.07 points to end at 10.38 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was down 0.42% or 0.135 points to 32.195.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 135 to 60 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.90 to $1326.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.16 to trade at $49.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1230, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 95.19.
