Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 5.22% or 7100 points to trade at 143000 at the close. Meanwhile, Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) added 2.05% or 17 points to end at 847 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 1.35% or 0.400 points to 30.095 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which fell 4.48% or 60.50 points to trade at 1290.00 at the close. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 3.61% or 12.30 points to end at 328.00 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 2.05% or 2.50 points to 119.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 83 and 30 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.80% to 25.640.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.16% or 1.95 to $1253.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.40% or 0.71 to hit $50.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.58 to trade at $51.83 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.47% to 62.9623, while EUR/RUB rose 0.15% to 69.403.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 97.87.
