Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.24% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA), which rose 2.96% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.5210 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT) fell 0.78% or 0.0700 points to end at 8.8970 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was down 1.34% or 0.0450 points to 3.3050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which fell 4.66% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.3480 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 3.82% or 0.4475 points to end at 11.2575 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was down 3.51% or 0.0765 points to 2.1025.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 60 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) fell to all time lows; falling 4.66% or 0.0170 to 0.3480.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.99% or 0.56 to $56.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.72% or 0.91 to hit $52.10 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.96% or 11.20 to trade at $1155.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.03% to 1.0942, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7095.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.88% at 97.28.
