Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 2.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 0.52% or 0.0150 points to trade at 2.8820 at the close. Meanwhile, Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 0.17% or 0.001 points to end at 0.581 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.17% or 0.0010 points to 0.6060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 7.51% or 0.0029 points to trade at 0.0357 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 3.16% or 0.3600 points to end at 11.0500 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was down 2.79% or 0.0920 points to 3.2000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 33 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.15% or 0.06 to $40.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.21% or 0.08 to hit $38.24 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.10 to trade at $1233.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1384, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.7911.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.54.
