Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.81%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 0.68% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) added 0.34% or 0.0260 points to end at 7.5650 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was down 0.06% or 0.0075 points to 13.4425 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which fell 4.35% or 0.5925 points to trade at 13.0275 at the close. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 3.33% or 0.0002 points to end at 0.0058 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) was down 2.32% or 0.0865 points to 3.6355.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 52 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.33% or 1.62 to $47.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.36% or 1.88 to hit $41.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.07% or 12.00 to trade at $1128.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1065, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7072.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.84.
