Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 1.15% or 0.0270 points to trade at 2.3660 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 0.74% or 0.0825 points to end at 11.1925 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was down 0.20% or 0.0070 points to 3.5580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which fell 6.82% or 0.0815 points to trade at 1.1135 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) declined 6.17% or 0.0290 points to end at 0.4410 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) was down 4.47% or 0.1610 points to 3.4390.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 53 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.70% or 1.09 to $63.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.44% or 0.88 to hit $60.13 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.70 to trade at $1172.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1186, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.7135.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.60.
