Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.00% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.2550 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.96% or 0.170 points to end at 8.860 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 0.68% or 0.0800 points to 11.8750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 2.76% or 0.0800 points to trade at 2.8200 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) declined 2.73% or 0.0710 points to end at 2.5300 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 2.46% or 0.1730 points to 6.8500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) rose to all time highs; rising 1.96% or 0.170 to 8.860.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.12% or 1.08 to $51.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.28% or 1.11 to hit $49.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.85 to trade at $1265.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8792.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 96.15.
