Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.82% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 3.49% or 0.0675 points to trade at 2.0035 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) added 2.30% or 0.0085 points to end at 0.3775 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was up 0.94% or 0.0050 points to 0.5350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which fell 6.82% or 0.0900 points to trade at 1.2300 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 3.01% or 0.03 points to end at 0.81 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) was down 2.95% or 0.1045 points to 3.4355.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 41 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.06% or 0.68 to $63.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.71 to hit $59.74 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.10 to trade at $1175.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1265, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7164.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 95.11.
