Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 3.64% or 0.240 points to trade at 6.840 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.51% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.8100 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.40% or 0.1650 points to 11.9400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 5.59% or 0.1770 points to trade at 2.9900 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 1.39% or 0.008 points to end at 0.569 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 1.36% or 0.0910 points to 6.6220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 18 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; falling 1.39% or 0.008 to 0.569.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.57% or 1.23 to $49.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.18% or 1.47 to hit $47.68 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1276.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1330, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7863.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.46.
