Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which rose 1.72% or 0.2025 points to trade at 11.9725 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) added 0.23% or 0.0090 points to end at 3.9450 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was up 0.14% or 0.0010 points to 0.6950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which fell 2.90% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0067 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) declined 2.60% or 0.03 points to end at 0.94 and Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) was down 2.39% or 0.0745 points to 3.0405.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 45 to 22 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 3.37% or 2.12 to $64.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.22% or 1.81 to hit $57.97 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.50 to trade at $1191.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.0817, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7185.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 97.53.
