Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP), which rose 0.67% or 0.0725 points to trade at 10.9075 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) fell 0.04% or 0.0050 points to end at 11.8850 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was down 0.34% or 0.0125 points to 3.6175 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which fell 4.98% or 0.1370 points to trade at 2.6130 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 3.53% or 0.0220 points to end at 0.6020 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was down 1.67% or 0.01 points to 0.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 50 to 16 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.10% or 0.06 to $56.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $50.58 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.08% or 12.30 to trade at $1131.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.0846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.6941.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 97.98.
