Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.52% or 0.170 points to trade at 6.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.02% or 0.0190 points to end at 1.8890 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.97% or 0.0120 points to 1.2490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LS:SEM), which fell 2.29% or 0.2650 points to trade at 11.2950 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.99% or 0.0210 points to end at 1.0320 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was down 1.47% or 0.0020 points to 0.1340.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 18 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 1.42% or 0.55 to $38.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.39% or 0.51 to hit $36.28 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.50 to trade at $1218.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.7982.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.51.
