Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.10% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 2.67% or 0.0270 points to trade at 1.0390 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.67% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.2440 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.18% or 0.0370 points to 3.1830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 1.72% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.457 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.47% or 0.0940 points to end at 6.2840 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 1.11% or 0.0002 points to 0.0178.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; down 1.72% or 0.008 to 0.457. Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.47% or 0.0940 to 6.2840.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.14% or 1.01 to $46.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.34% or 1.05 to hit $43.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1325.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1260, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8535.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 95.30.
