Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 2.56% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.30% or 0.1800 points to end at 14.0450 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.02% or 0.0020 points to 0.1980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 1.50% or 0.0570 points to trade at 3.7420 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.41% or 0.0185 points to end at 1.2902 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was down 1.37% or 0.0810 points to 5.8530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.30% or 0.1800 to 14.0450.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 3.29% or 1.79 to $56.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.44% or 1.77 to hit $53.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.35 to trade at $1166.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.0644, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8386.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 100.94.
