Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 1.88% or 0.2600 points to trade at 14.0800 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) added 0.85% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.8295 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.66% or 0.0160 points to 2.4240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 7.15% or 0.4700 points to trade at 6.1000 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.86% or 0.0320 points to end at 1.6900 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 1.55% or 0.0850 points to 5.3900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.60% or 0.37 to $62.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.79% or 0.42 to hit $53.67 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1243.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1351, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.935.
