Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.21% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.66% or 0.0260 points to trade at 1.5960 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) added 1.64% or 0.0135 points to end at 0.8385 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.42% or 0.130 points to 9.270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which fell 2.05% or 0.3050 points to trade at 14.5550 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.47% or 0.2200 points to end at 14.7600 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was down 1.44% or 0.120 points to 8.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.47% or 0.2200 to 14.7600. Shares in Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.44% or 0.120 to 8.200.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.46% or 0.31 to $66.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.55% or 0.31 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1223.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1452, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8908.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.06.
