Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 6.97% or 0.6690 points to trade at 10.2700 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 5.50% or 0.0720 points to end at 1.3800 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 3.18% or 0.0960 points to 3.1180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which fell 4.29% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.2680 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.99% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.0325 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was down 1.10% or 0.0050 points to 0.4500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; losing 2.99% or 0.0010 to 0.0325. Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.10% or 0.0050 to 0.4500.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 8.98% or 2.70 to $32.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 11.12% or 2.92 to hit $29.12 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.90% or 11.20 to trade at $1236.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.7761.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 96.05.
