Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 8.55% or 0.0026 points to trade at 0.0330 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.87% or 0.1250 points to end at 3.3540 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 3.43% or 0.0580 points to 1.7480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which fell 0.77% or 0.0510 points to trade at 6.5390 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 0.13% or 0.0100 points to end at 8.0070 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.16% or 0.0110 points to 6.8420.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 42 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.23% or 0.60 to $49.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.86% or 0.42 to hit $49.04 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.48% or 5.95 to trade at $1223.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1154, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.7591.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 95.46.
