Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.01% or 0.161 points to trade at 8.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.83% or 0.2550 points to end at 14.1550 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 1.78% or 0.0570 points to 3.2660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 1.16% or 0.0190 points to trade at 1.6170 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.41% or 0.0160 points to end at 3.8640 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.26% or 0.0020 points to 0.7740.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.69% or 0.38 to $55.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.53% or 0.28 to hit $53.34 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.81% or 9.25 to trade at $1133.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0396, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8418.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 103.26.
