Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 8.61% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.2900 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 5.53% or 0.1410 points to end at 2.6910 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 3.64% or 0.1030 points to 2.9350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 5.95% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.585 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.23% or 0.0029 points to end at 0.2335 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was down 0.11% or 0.0010 points to 0.9160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.67% or 0.33 to $49.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.03% or 0.49 to hit $47.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 12.55 to trade at $1295.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1269, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8747.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.59.
