Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 13.02% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.1910 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 7.15% or 0.1080 points to end at 1.6180 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 2.12% or 0.0550 points to 2.6450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae (LS:YSO), which fell 2.03% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.6750 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 0.54% or 0.0060 points to end at 1.1130 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 0.18% or 0.0010 points to 0.5420.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.05% or 0.95 to $47.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.88% or 0.84 to hit $45.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.02% or 13.65 to trade at $1329.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1117, while EUR/GBP fell 1.24% to 0.8339.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 96.09.
