Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 2.02% or 0.0560 points to trade at 2.8280 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.75% or 0.1900 points to end at 11.0250 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.69% or 0.0030 points to 0.1800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 0.94% or 0.0160 points to trade at 1.6870 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.30% or 0.0170 points to end at 5.7200 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 0.12% or 0.0150 points to 12.5350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.84% or 0.85 to $45.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.79% or 0.80 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.60% or 8.05 to trade at $1322.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0964, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8371.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 97.52.
