Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Portucel (LS:PTI), which rose 3.94% or 0.1060 points to trade at 2.7930 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 2.53% or 0.2550 points to end at 10.3450 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 2.26% or 0.0300 points to 1.3600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA), which fell 3.32% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.2620 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 2.52% or 0.2650 points to end at 10.2350 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 1.03% or 0.0300 points to 2.8780.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.32% or 0.0090 to 0.2620. Shares in EDP (LS:EDP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.03% or 0.0300 to 2.8780.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 3.38% or 1.02 to $31.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.29% or 0.08 to hit $28.02 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.58% or 6.90 to trade at $1191.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.7758.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 96.31.
