Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.73% or 0.1240 points to trade at 3.4480 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.59% or 0.0450 points to end at 1.7800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.37% or 0.2600 points to 11.2150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 6.16% or 0.4500 points to trade at 6.8600 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.74% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1690 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 1.64% or 0.0003 points to 0.0180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.93% or 0.41 to $43.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.98% or 0.41 to hit $41.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.67% or 22.85 to trade at $1344.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1084, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8481.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.20.
