Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.01% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 2.82% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.437 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.29% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.3570 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.49% or 0.0110 points to 0.7480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which fell 1.32% or 0.0740 points to trade at 5.5500 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.91% or 0.1250 points to end at 13.6100 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 0.67% or 0.0300 points to 4.4160.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 1.81% or 1.02 to $55.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.82% or 0.98 to hit $52.85 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.33% or 16.65 to trade at $1233.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0507, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8567.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 102.16.
