Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.53% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 0.39% or 0.15 points to trade at 38.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 0.31% or 0.12 points to end at 38.32 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 0.02% or 0.01 points to 59.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 3.50% or 250.00 points to trade at 6900.00 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 3.31% or 0.16 points to end at 4.67 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was down 3.28% or 10.90 points to 321.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 361 to 189 and 109 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.28% or 10.90 to 321.10.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.49% or 0.90 to $59.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.77 to hit $62.94 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.50 to trade at $1175.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.57% to 4.1677, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7083.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.29.
