Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food, Oil & Gas and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.38% or 4.50 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Meanwhile, PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) added 1.41% or 0.33 points to end at 23.72 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 0.91% or 2.40 points to 266.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 4.50% or 1.42 points to trade at 30.14 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 3.42% or 181.90 points to end at 5142.90 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 3.23% or 10.00 points to 299.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 349 to 169 and 160 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.25% or 0.61 to $48.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.53% or 0.77 to hit $49.58 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1285.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.38% to 4.4297, while USD/PLN rose 1.13% to 3.9519.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 94.99.
