Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 3.24% or 0.30 points to trade at 9.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.94% or 2.43 points to end at 85.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 2.82% or 0.22 points to 8.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which fell 5.06% or 6.23 points to trade at 116.97 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.14% or 0.17 points to end at 5.24 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 2.65% or 0.120 points to 4.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 278 to 252 and 197 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.94% or 2.43 to 85.00.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.32% or 1.59 to $46.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.20% or 1.57 to hit $47.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.78% or 9.30 to trade at $1180.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.4140, while USD/PLN fell 0.53% to 4.1678.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 101.56.
