Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.13% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 2.81% or 0.45 points to trade at 16.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.50% or 0.15 points to end at 6.15 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.37% or 2.06 points to 88.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which fell 1.85% or 2.10 points to trade at 111.40 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 1.56% or 1.85 points to end at 117.00 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 1.36% or 0.52 points to 37.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 300 to 272 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.50% or 0.15 to 6.15. Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.37% or 2.06 to 88.81.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.78% or 0.45 to $57.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.24% or 0.79 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.40 to trade at $1198.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.06% to 3.9918, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.7135.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 98.06.
