Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were First Gen (PS:FGEN), which rose 4.01% or 1.10 points to trade at 28.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 3.02% or 0.340 points to end at 11.600 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) was up 2.59% or 1.10 points to 43.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philex Mining (PS:PX), which fell 2.54% or 0.190 points to trade at 7.300 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 1.79% or 0.100 points to end at 5.500 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) was down 0.89% or 12.000 points to 1338.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 104 to 92 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1194.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $57.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.65 to trade at $65.50 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.03% to 7.1428, while USD/PHP fell 0.15% to 44.220.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 96.96.
