Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS), which rose 3.16% or 2.500 points to trade at 81.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) added 3.02% or 0.170 points to end at 5.790 and Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP) was up 2.13% or 0.95 points to 45.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which fell 2.18% or 0.090 points to trade at 4.040 at the close. Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX) declined 1.71% or 0.110 points to end at 6.340 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was down 1.63% or 0.240 points to 14.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 113 to 59 and 53 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.68% or 8.80 to $1283.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $43.69 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.09 to trade at $44.88 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.50% to 7.2563, while USD/PHP rose 0.62% to 47.160.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 93.17.
