Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.33% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 15.63% or 0.730 points to trade at 5.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Panoro (LM:PML) added 2.50% or 0.002 points to end at 0.082 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.75% or 0.005 points to 0.290 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which fell 4.48% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.320 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 3.85% or 0.060 points to end at 1.500 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was down 3.57% or 0.050 points to 1.350.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 10 to 9 and 11 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.55% or 0.42 to $27.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $30.84 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 4.31% or 51.50 to trade at $1246.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.26% to 3.5155, while EUR/PEN rose 0.79% to 3.9756.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.65.
