Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Durables And Apparel, Transport and Auto & components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which rose 10.41% or 29.7 points to trade at 314.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 10.09% or 1.52 points to end at 16.58 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) was up 6.93% or 1.5 points to 23.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 4.81% or 0.7 points to trade at 13.8 at the close. Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) declined 1.69% or 4.6 points to end at 266.8 and Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) was down 1.43% or 0.75 points to 51.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 119 to 47 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.81% or 0.7 to 13.8.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.57% or 1.05 to $41.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.27% or 0.98 to hit $44.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.30% or 4.15 to trade at $1368.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.44% to 9.3864, while USD/NOK fell 0.32% to 8.4284.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.66.
