Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Auto & components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.92% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 22.13% or 5.9 points to trade at 32.5 at the close. Meanwhile, Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) added 4.77% or 3.00 points to end at 65.90 and Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) was up 2.25% or 2.4 points to 109.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which fell 5.26% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.15 at the close. Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) declined 1.60% or 0.69 points to end at 42.36 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) was down 0.84% or 1.20 points to 141.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 110 to 64 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.25% or 2.4 to 109.0.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.22% or 0.62 to $51.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $54.13 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.84% or 9.85 to trade at $1162.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.38% to 8.9840, while USD/NOK rose 1.08% to 8.5230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 101.68.
