Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Auto & components and Consumer Durables And Apparel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 3.62% or 2.9 points to trade at 81.7 at the close. Meanwhile, Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) added 3.43% or 1.9 points to end at 55.8 and Statoil ASA (OSLO:STL) was up 2.25% or 3.1 points to 140.7 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schibsted ASA A (OSLO:SBSTA), which fell 1.16% or 3.0 points to trade at 254.6 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) declined 0.76% or 0.31 points to end at 40.73 and DnB ASA (OSLO:DNB) was down 0.61% or 0.8 points to 130.1.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 95 to 81 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.95% or 0.54 to $57.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.96% or 0.59 to hit $62.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.20 to trade at $1163.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.71% to 8.8311, while USD/NOK rose 0.37% to 7.9648.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.25.
