Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 2.70% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 2.41% or 0.020 points to end at 0.850 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 2.38% or 0.020 points to 0.830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which fell 5.09% or 2.08 points to trade at 38.82 at the close. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) declined 3.64% or 0.020 points to end at 0.530 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was down 2.17% or 1.00 points to 44.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 22 to 14 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.09% or 2.08 to 38.82.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.32% or 0.67 to $51.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.28 to hit $54.17 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.98% or 11.50 to trade at $1160.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 1.28% to 333.400, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 317.000.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 101.74.
