Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.30% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB), which rose 3.14% or 4.57 points to trade at 150.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) added 2.01% or 0.08 points to end at 4.07 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 1.15% or 0.010 points to 0.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB), which fell 3.12% or 0.49 points to trade at 15.02 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) declined 1.62% or 0.28 points to end at 17.18 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was down 1.40% or 0.34 points to 24.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 21 to 16 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.14% or 4.57 to 150.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.59% or 0.28 to $48.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.48% or 0.24 to hit $50.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.46% or 6.15 to trade at $1319.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.55% to 351.710, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 315.500.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.43.
